Current supplemental essay prompts and limits
The prompt descriptions below are concise planning summaries. Open the linked official source and confirm the exact wording in the live application before drafting.

Different viewpoint

Deadlines and decision plans
Early Action: November 1
Nonbinding. Georgetown restricts applicants from applying to a binding Early Decision program elsewhere and lists decisions by December 15.
Regular Decision: January 1
Georgetown lists decisions by April 1 and a May 1 reply deadline.
Testing policy
Georgetown requires at least one complete official SAT or ACT result and does not superscore. ACT writing is not considered. Its preparation page recommends ACT science for students planning to study science.
AI and authorship policy
No dedicated public policy found. Nudge did not find a dedicated public Georgetown undergraduate admissions AI or authorship policy in the official first-year pages reviewed on August 11, 2026.
What remains uncertain
Georgetown accepts its own application as well as the Common App, so do not apply one platform's policy to every applicant automatically. Ask Georgetown about a planned use beyond standard proofreading.
A detector percentage is not a substitute for this policy. Preserve notes, dated drafts, revision history, and feedback so the development of the student's own work remains visible.
Check the school name before drafting 500 words
The final essay changes with the undergraduate school. Copy the exact prompt for your selected school into the workspace, then research that school's curriculum and priorities. A response written for the College cannot simply be renamed for SFS or McDonough.
Use the activity response for significance
The short activity essay asks why the involvement matters, not for a second activities-list description. Choose one moment, responsibility, or consequence that shows what the activity changed for you or other people.
