2026-2027 application cycle
University of Florida Application Guide: Deadlines, Requirements, Testing, and Essays (2026-2027)
UF's Fall 2027 first-year application uses the Common App and has three plans: binding Early Decision due October 15, Early Action due November 1, and Regular Decision due January 15. UF requires SAT, ACT, or CLT scores and, for most applicants, a separate STARS academic record. UF's public admissions site confirms a UF Supplement with several short answers but did not publish their wording or limits as of August 11, 2026.

Deadlines and decision plans

Binding. Materials are due October 22, the decision is listed for December 11, and the enrollment confirmation deadline is January 8.
Early Action: November 1, 2026
Nonbinding. Materials are due November 8, the decision is listed for January 22, and the enrollment confirmation deadline is May 1.

Nonbinding. Materials are due January 22, the decision is listed for March 19, and the enrollment confirmation deadline is May 1.
Testing policy
UF requires every first-year applicant to submit SAT, ACT, and/or CLT scores and is not test optional. UF has no preference among the exams and superscores the highest subsections within the same exam. Its ACT calculation uses English, Reading, and Math, not Science.
AI and authorship policy
No dedicated public policy found. No dedicated public University of Florida undergraduate admissions AI policy was found during Nudge's August 11, 2026 review of UF's first-year admissions pages.
What remains uncertain
The absence of a dedicated public policy is not permission to use a tool in any particular way. Follow the live application instructions and applicable Common App certification, and ask UF if a planned use is unclear.
A detector percentage is not a substitute for this policy. Preserve notes, dated drafts, revision history, and feedback so the development of the student's own work remains visible.
Treat the materials date as a second deadline
Submitting the Common App does not finish the UF file. Track the plan's application date, its separate materials date, the Gator Portal, STARS, and testing status as separate tasks.
Confirm the UF Supplement before drafting
UF's public page says the supplement contains several short answers but does not show the current questions or limits. Open the live supplement, record each exact prompt and limit, then start. An older prompt is not a safe substitute.
Keep program-specific essays in their own row
Honors and Innovation Academy can add writing requirements for applicants who choose them. Track those separately instead of treating them as universal UF essays.
