Deadlines and decision plans
Single-Choice Early Action: November 1
Nonbinding but restrictive. Princeton lists separate November dates for optional arts materials and financial aid.
Regular Decision: January 1
Princeton lists late March for decisions and May 1 for the reply deadline.
Testing policy
Princeton is test optional for Fall 2027 entry and says applicants who do not submit an SAT or ACT score are not disadvantaged. Separate English-proficiency testing can be required based on language and school instruction.
AI and authorship policy
Published admissions guidance found. Princeton has published admissions guidance about AI, but Nudge did not find a separate formal undergraduate admissions AI policy. The dean of admission cautions that AI-assisted essays can lose the applicant's authentic voice and reminds applicants that they attest the work is their own.
What remains uncertain
The admissions guidance does not give a detailed permitted-use list. Ask Princeton before using a tool in a way that could shape the outline, argument, or final language.
A detector percentage is not a substitute for this policy. Preserve notes, dated drafts, revision history, and feedback so the development of the student's own work remains visible.
Choose the academic response that matches your application
A.B. and undecided applicants answer a different academic question from B.S.E. applicants. Copy the correct version into your workspace before planning. Then connect one or two real questions to parts of Princeton's program that would help you pursue them.
Treat the graded paper as its own requirement
The graded paper is not another personal essay. Find an eligible school assignment early, check Princeton's instructions, and request a readable copy with the teacher's grade and comments before deadlines get crowded.
